Death and Taxes was created in 2009 by J.C. ‘Psyche’, a 20-year veteran of the goth/alternative scene. Her goal was to offer her expertise in accountancy and tax preparation to people like her - people in the alternative scene who run small businesses, are employed as contractors, or who simply need help and advice navigating the maze of tax rules.

A classic Virgo, Psyche has always had a knack for figures. She has worked in finance since 2003, specialising in bookkeeping and payroll. In 2009 she completed her AAT qualification and was elected a Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians. The curriculum covered all aspects of accounts preparation, and she specialised in business and personal taxation.
